25th Anniversary of the Cabbage Patch doll!!!!!

My favorite doll was a cabbage patch doll named Edrena. Now AJ has one too. At first she didnt really care and now its her fave too. Her name is Sara Joy and her birthday is July 17th, the same as AJ!

Everyone already knows my son looks just like my husband,but now her doll looks like him with the brown hair and green eyes!!!!

My Wonderful Weekend...not

Here's an update on my bumpy weekend.

Friday night - Stevie duty - tossed around all night

Saturday day- Trav got the bug, I drove the kids to Louisiana where Stevie got the bug

Saturday night - came home got everyone to bed just in time for me to get the bug

Sunday day- lay in bed all day and let Daddy take care of the kids, while taking Pops to the ER with the bug

Sunday night - A.J. gets the bug worse than everyone.

Monday day - take care of A.J., contacted teacher (she was worried because 3 kids were out sick too), take Steven to daycare before A.J. gets sick again (close call), email parents from class about School Carnival since it is this weekend and Im the room mom.

Needless to say, I didn't get anything done that I wanted to and Im physically and mentally exhausted. Its days like this when I think back to when I was a single mom. I dont know how I could have handled this past weekend with out my Trav.

I used these glasses at Granny's and fell in love. They are called Tervis and are at BB&B. They are kinda expensive but they dont sweat and look really nice.

Zero-Odor. I learned about this stuff from Whoopi Goldberg. I use this stuff everywhere. It removes odors and leaves a clean scent. The ad says it doesnt leave a scent but it does leave a slight scent. Its softer than Febreeze though. Sometimes when the baby has a dirty diaper I spray this is the air after I change him. I had to but it online and pay shipping but now it is at BB&B. I think its still cheaper to buy it online.

My absolute favorite place to browse around. Its like eBay for handmade items. Its really neat and the people are sooo nice.

I love Pro-Activ. After years and years of having bad skin, this has been the only product to really help and not just cover up. After a week of use, my face cleared up.

This is my FAVORITE mascara ever!!!! Its by L'Oreal called Double Extend Beauty Tubes. Its soo cool. You put on the white side first then then "color" side. It doesnt rub off at all. The best part, when you wash your fave the tubes just fall off. One hint though, You cant put on more than one coat because then it gets goopy.

You can not tell me this is not the cutest thing you've ever seen?!!!!! We always sasy he looks like a turtle and AJ loves ladybugs so I made him a blankie with both. Of course he has to have his "Sissy" bear where ever he goes!!!

Quilt Giveaway

Anyone Left-Handed?

I've never even thought about A.J. being left-handed as a big deal until the other day. She writes in a journal at school in a spiral and has been taking washclothes from home because the spiral hurts her hand. Being a right-handed parent to a left-handed child may not sound like a big deal until they are learning to write and you can help them. She transposes letters all the time. Not because shes young or dyslexic but because she is writing the letters right to left instead of left to right. I found some left-handed spirals online but they are like $5 for one. Usually you can get them 10 for $1 at Target. I tried to have her write from the back but the holes are on the wrong side and the cover os on the back. I'm think of trying to sew her a notebook for christmas as a left-handed one. Im wondering if she will notice. We'll have to see if any other problems come up.

Halloween

Halloween costumes are sooo expensive. This year AJ was a cat, which was awesome. I made Stevies costume but I didnt get a really good pic of it. He was Bam-Bam. He actually really liked it too!!!

Super Simple Saturday Quilt

This quilt was done in a 6 hour Saturday class. Miss Ramona picked the colors. She didnt pretty good comsidering she doesnt like bright colors. Im happy to say I was not the trouble maker in this class!!!

This is my first quilt since starting classes. Miss Ramona taught me a lot. She calls me a trouble maker though. I guess some things dont change! The picture is a little crooked because I was standing on a chair. Its really big.

Scary

Yesterday I drove to pick up AJ as I always do. Pulled up to the school and SHE'S NOT THERE!!! I stayed calm thinking Daddy picked her up. Then I remembered he was on the other side of town. I told the teachers I just live 3 blocks away...Ill be right back. So I drove home and she is outside a neighbors house. SHE WALKED HOME BY HERSELF!!!! I dont think Ive ever been that mad in my life. I called the school to let them know. At the same time her teacher knocks on my door to help find her. Trav pulls up and sees the teacher over there so he knew something was up. I know it's the schools fault for allowing AJ to leave but I was soooo mad at her for actually leaving. She said she was scared, but she thought Daddy was home so it would be ok. Needless to say, hopefully, she wont be doing that again.

Ike Updates

Things are finally getting back to normal here. We got back from Gatesville Saturday. My house didnt have electricity for like 5 or 6 days. Since Im high maintenence, I decided I had A/C!!! We lost the big tree in our front yard and our fences. Luckily we had just gotten a new roof. School doesnt start back until next week so I got both kids at work with me for the week.

The hotel we were suppose to stay at after the wedding has a boat sitting in the parking lot so that is probably not going to work out. Also the beachhouse we were suppose to honeymoon at is gone. Not too sure what we are going to do about that!!! Luckily there is no damage at Butler's!

I want to take a sec and say a special thank you to Heather, Ayren, Brooke, Aimee and Meg. Each of them contacted me EVERY day to check on me and my family. I love you girls!!!

Ike Update

We all have electricity now. Steve is coming to Gatesville to get Gail and the The kids and I will follow them home tomorrow. They will be going to my house to drop of my new king size bed!!!

Still in Gatesville from evacuating from Ike. Wait a mess. No pc, no internet, no electricity.

YaY Finally Finished!!!

This is the latest quilt. It took FOREVER to finish!! I wanted it to have a Wizard of Oz feeling. I practiced using piping for the binding, metallic thread and zig-zag stitching. I havent done a label yet and probably wont for awhile. Overall Im pretty happy with this quilt but Im definately glad that I dont have to look at it again.
